- Meal images and related prompts may be sent to third-party AI providers solely to generate nutrition and glucose-impact estimates.
- We do not require an account to use core scanning features. We do not intentionally collect sensitive medical records through GlucoScan.

- To personalize summaries and swap suggestions based on your selected goal.
- To maintain scan history and daily usage limits on your device.

4. Data retention
Scan history and preferences are primarily stored on your device. You can delete individual history items in the app. Information sent for analysis is processed to deliver results and retained by providers only as needed to operate their services and comply with applicable law.
5. Permissions
GlucoScan may request camera and photo library access so you can scan meals. These permissions are optional, but required for scanning features. You can revoke permissions in your device settings.
6. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Children’s privacy
GlucoScan is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information to us, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
8. International processing
Your information may be processed in countries other than where you live, including by AI and cloud providers. Those countries may have different data protection laws.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the Service after updates means you accept the revised policy.
